Your doctor has ordered an Arterial Doppler exam of your legs. This is a noninvasive, ultrasound test. The sonographer will put a cool gel on your legs and pass a transducer (probe) along your legs to scan your arteries. This is to evaluate the blood flow in your arteries, to determine if there are any blockages caused by a plaque build up causing obstruction of the blood flow to your feet. You will also have blood pressures taken in your arms and legs. This is a painless procedure, and there is no preparation.
